alt vs eikaiwa – am i the only one who prefers eikaiwa

hello everyone, it's my first time posting here on reddit. for context, i used to teach in an eikaiwa for 2 years and went back home. I recently came back to Japan and started my ALT journey. It's only been 2 months but being an ALT is really tough. The workload is much less compared to being an eikaiwa teacher but the feeling of being like a "display", "human recorder", "decoration" is driving me insane. Eikaiwa has more workload and shitty hours but somehow I kinda feel like I'm actually teaching and that I have control over my classes.

Are there any ALTs here who actually enjoys their job? Long time ALTs, what made you stay?
