Re-enable plastic PLASMO card after adding to Apple Wallet

Hey, everyone, I added my PASMO card to Apple Wallet at some point after transferring my balance from the plastic card. However, for some reason I can’t charge it through my UK debit card via Apple Pay – and I see this is a recent issue that has affected number of people on this sub (both PASMO and SUICA). Transferring the balance from an existing plastic card disables it, but is there any way to re-enable it? Or do I have to get another one? Thanks!

  1. Tried to look into faq and there’s only change model/reissue. It seems like you can cancel the pasmo on your apple pay and get refunded for the remaining balance. Might be better to ask staff in the stations if Japanese is not a problem.

  2. Gotta get another card reissued, and use up remaining balance on your phone card.

By the way you can still charge your mobile card (with cash) at machines with a cradle that don’t suck the card in but you just place your phone there. Its just more annoying as those machines are less common than card-eating type.

  3. You can just put your phone in the machines at the train station to charge it the same way you would a card if you didn’t know (obviously the box type ones, not the ones the card slots into).
