Flight delayed from Doha to Narita, what are my rights

We’re stranded in Doha for 2h30 hours, our Qatar airlines flight to Narita was delayed due to mechanical malfunction with the AC and the next flight they offered us will supposedly depart in a few minutes. Only problem is there will be no more trains from Narita to where I live, what are my rights? There’s a post from 3 years https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/comments/c3pihf/compensation_for_cancelled_or_delayed_flights_in/ and it seems I should have bought insurance as there’s no law in japan regarding airline delays. Has anything changed since then?

  1. A long time ago, my flight got delayed 4 hours and 30 minutes which would have caused us to miss our connecting flight. At Narita airport, we just got guided towards a hotel where we stayed 1 night and then took the earliest flight back the next day. Didn’t cost us anything.

  2. I think it depends on airline. I got some money to take taxi from ANA few years ago. If you are at the airport, can’t you ask the airline staff?
