I will be going to Japan for the second time . I’d truly appreciate any tips or advice

Hello, following a happy contest of circumstances, I will go to Japan for the second time, between 22.12.24-06.01.25, as a solo traveler.
I am aware that it is the holiday period and many attractions will be closed, but I am convinced that I will find enough activities to fill my time. I really like to walk, so I'm mainly looking for suitable areas for this, even if the weather can be cold (I'm from a temperate area, so I'm used to it).
Obviously, the main area to explore will be Tokyo and its surroundings, like the Lawson store for the view of Mount Fuji (I promise I will only take pictures from the sidewalk, without disturbing the locals), but I am also willing to go to the Kyoto area, or other areas of interest. I don't worry about food, I can live only on egg sandwiches from 7 Eleven.
If you have recommendations for this kind of activities and not only (any kind of attractions accessible by public transport), I look forward to them.
As for accommodation, I will look for hotels in the APA chain, I am satisfied with the quality-price-location ratio, but if you know something better than the APA hotels, I am open to suggestions.
How is the weather during that period? I see that it varies between -5 and 10 degrees Celsius, in Tokyo, if so, it's quite pleasant.

Thx!
