How do you take the express buses in Japan?

Hi there. I'm trying to figure out how I would get my group of 6 from Osaka-Namba station to Magome to walk the Magome-pass to Tsutamuraya. We're going to be in Japan next April. I intended to get a hotel around the Magome area. I do not know how to use the express buses. Google maps is showing me to take the Kintetsu limited to Nagoya and then another bus to Magome. When going to Kintetsu website it only lets me schedule a ticket up to two month in October. I messed up on my last trip to Japan with the busses involving one incident when I didn't realize I had to reserve a express bus ahead of time to get from Tokyo to Fuji-Q land.

What would anyone recommend? Should I reserve a hotel in Magome now, and then wait till like February to make a reservation with the bus to get there in April? Should I just get tickets at the bus station? To get to the area I have to use a bus pretty much anyway I put it into Google. I'm a little scared I'm going to mess it up again, and with a hotel stay on the line lol. Should I just use a taxi? Do they even go to place that are remote like Magome?  I wanted to plan ahead for everything for this next trip.

My last trip I mostly stayed in Tokyo using the loop to get around with the exception of using the bullet train to get to Kyoto, which surprisingly was easy to get tickets for. Let me know if I'm overcomplicating this. Thanks.
