Hi there! To begin, apologies if this would be considered off-topic in any way; I’ve been on this search for months now and am still making very little progress, so I thought that I might be able to get some help here.
The mods told me that I could post this here, but if anyone has anywhere else that they think I should look, any suggestions would be much appreciated!
So, I’ve been on a lost media hunt for a while now; specifically, I’m trying to find some specific magazines – the October 1997 through April 1998 issues of ‘Macworld Japan’ and the May 1998 through January 1999 issues of ‘CG World’.
Both are, of course, magazines that were published exclusively in Japan. ‘Macworld Japan’ (Obviously just known as ‘Macworld’ in Japan) is the Japanese version of Macworld magazine, which contains its own content independent of the US version. CG World is a magazine that discusses digital art and media.
For CG World, it’s been a slow search; someone actually reached out and found the May 1998 issue, which was incredible – however, I’m still having no luck finding any of the others.
For Macworld, I’ve had absolutely zero progress; I’ve been scouring several Japanese online marketplaces for months – only a few issues of the magazine have appeared, and most are around 1992-1994, nowhere near the range I’m seeking.
I’m not necessarily looking to own or purchase them; I merely want to see certain content within. As such, I’d be entirely happy if I could find some kind of archive that had them, or if I could get into contact with someone who had copies and could scan certain pages for me.
ANY help on this matter is greatly appreciated; I’m more than happy to hear alternative suggestions on where to look! I’ve been looking at several online marketplaces, but none of the issues in question have been popping up.
If there is any kind of archive where I might find them, or a place where I could discuss the subject with people who may be able to help me, any guidance would be a big help! As would any other suggestions that I haven’t been able to think of!
