Hi guys, I always appreciate how honest people are here, it’s super refreshing. I am hoping I can get some of that knowledge myself
Background: Graduated with degrees in Neuroscience/Spanish. Worked as a software tester for about a year then moved to Latin America for a year. Was supposed to have a job when I came back but it’s been… complicated. Idea was I’d learn to code on the job/in my free time and leverage that to get a job in Japan someday. But idk if it’s gonna work out and I can’t be in this limbo anymore. I’ve been doing artificial intelligence training in the meantime lmao but I feel like the longer I wait to decide the more I’m putting myself at a disadvantage.
Current predicament: I’m know I’ll go to Japan someday, just trying to set myself up for success right now and I don’t know how. I’m learning Japanese already. Should I commit to a coding bootcamp of some sort? I just know the job market is ass and it’s preferable to have a lot of experience working before moving to Japan. I could also try to continue with Neuroscience but there isn’t much option for me at this point other than getting a Masters and I just dont see it as super plausible for a move to Japan to continue in that field.
TL;DR: what’s the best move to set myself up for success to move to Japan if I am a STEM (neuroscience) grad? Continue with that? Switch to software/tech? Something else entirely?!?
