Searching for a genuine comparison of day-to-day life in Osaka vs Tokyo as a young person

Hey everyone!

To get straight to the point, I (21M) have been accepted for two newgrad job offers, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka. I had interned in Tokyo for six months in 2023, and now for my return in 2025 I am torn whether to accept the offer in Osaka or Tokyo.

Osaka offers better pay even though living costs are lower, so my general standard of living will be higher in Osaka. However, I would describe myself as a "big city person" – I like the buzz and busyness of large metropolises, which is why I felt very comfortable living in Tokyo.

Another point is my limited Japanese (JLPT N4), which I am afraid could become a problem in Osaka as compared to Tokyo, where from my personal experience most people in my industry (hospitality) speak pretty fluent English.

In the end of the day, my main concern with Osaka is that the city might be less lively and there might be less to do. This is why I am seeking you guy's opinions – especially of people that have experienced both – but also of Osaka residents, whether Osaka has the same vibe and energy to it.

Thank you so much in advance, I appreciate any and every answer!
