Not learning Japanese currently but I accidentally saw the IPA for Japanese on wiki. It says the romanization "sh" is not the same as in English but is ɕ instead. That's also the "x" in mandarin pinyin and the "щ" in Russian.
I've never noticed that cuz all the "sh" sounds the same as the"sh" in English for me. So I'm wondering how accurate it is. Thanks in advance.
