If you are looking for long hard hike in outskirts of Tokyo, this one is for you!

Yesterday I went to a hike with my friend for approximately 15 km from Okutama station to Mitakesan cable car station. We chose the trail randomly despite it says “HARD” and other reviewers mentioning the same, we started at 11:30 AM from Okutama, we finished at 5:30 at the station, we have seen many Japanese people along the way. One of them stopped us at 1:30 PM and had a little chat with us he said you should return to Okutama as you can’t make it before dark and we didn’t have proper gear (lights , sticks …etc). Anyway we thought going back is also hard so we pushed forward, minimized the stopping time, there isn’t much to see along the way. After a long looooooong hike we reached Mitakesan.

I was absolutely tired but we had another 2:30 hours of commute to Tokyo, it was definitely a great experience but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone unless you are capable and can endure the long and hard trial.

TLDR: Okutama station to Mitakesan station, long 15 km with 1 km uphill climb
