I just moved to Japan in July and am getting set up with my apartment, phone plan etc. and have found myself completely flabberghasted by internet and phone plans. I was going to go with Rakuten Hikari and the saikyo plan (I am living in Tokyo btw) but then I heard some off putting things about the quality of coverage and speeds, especially underground.
I could maybe put up with that for the price, but now where I have gotten really confused is the 'points' systems that everything seems to use. Someone made me aware that my local supermarket chain can be a factor in which ecosystem I end up going into, but I have been able to find zero information about what points Mybasket will accept or generate, and when I go directly to the pages for docomo or rakuten i get even more overwhelmed. I was wondering if anyone has any advice?
TL;DR Does MyBasket work with Rakuten or Docomo points? And are either of those providers worth it for the trade offs of price vs service?
