I will ask my question with an example because I'm not sure how to phrase it precisely.
Tonight I had to pay in cash 3762Â¥ at a restaurant. Closest I could get was 4000Â¥. Instead I gave 4062Â¥ to order to receive 3×100Â¥ coins and to get rid of those small coins. It's pretty standard practice where I live. Somehow they were confused and it made me think I made a calculation mistake.
It's the second time I've done this, the first time I just got a weird look and they asked me to confirm. This time they even showed me the subtraction so I could double check.
Just I should not bother and give my coins to an ATM thingy? I like my 100Â¥ coins (laundry, etc.)
