Itinerary check for 9 nights in Kyushu this November (Nagasaki, Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Kirishima with daytrip to Hiroshima)

Hi all – our trip is coming up this November and I wanted to get some feedback on the itinerary I've put together. This will be our second trip, our first was last November through Tokyo – Osaka – Kyoto – Kanazawa – Takayama. This time around we'll be visiting Kyushu and spending a few days revisiting Tokyo. Husband and I are in our early 30's and our #1 interest is food. We'd also like to do some shopping for skincare, makeup, snacks, etc which we'll mostly do in the last few days in Tokyo.

Day 1: Tokyo

• Land in Tokyo Haneda airport @ 6:30pm

• Have dinner, rest and just use this as a day to adjust to the time zone

Day 2: Tokyo -> Nagasaki

• Flight @ 12:30pm from Tokyo (Haneda), arriving in Nagasaki @ 2:30pm

• Check-in to hotel/airbnb and rest, have lunch

• Trek up Mt. Nabekanmuri in the evening for a scenic view of Nagasaki

Day 3: Nagasaki

• Sofuku-ji

• Suwa Shrine

• Chinatown, eat champon

• Inasayama Observatory in the evening

Day 4: Nagasaki

• Rent a car for the day and drive through the Shimabara Peninsula. Stop by Shimabara and Unzen and explore

Day 5: Nagasaki -> Fukuoka

• Train 1.5 hour to Fukuoka. Visit Yutoku Inari Shrine on the way

• Once arrive in Fukuoka, visit Kushida Shrine

• Canal City and/or Tenjin Underground Mall

  Day 6: Fukuoka

• Day trip to Dazaifu (20min-40min by bus or train). Tenkaiinari Shrine and Tenmangu Shrine

• Ohori Garden (close at 6pm, so arrive by 4:30pm)

Day 7: Fukuoka

• Day trip to Hiroshima: Peace Memorial Museum, Mitaki-dera and trail up to Mitakiyama. Eat Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki

Day 8: Fukuoka -> Kagoshima

• Train 2 hours to Kagoshima

• Shiroyama Park observation deck

• Eat shabu shabu

Day 9: Kagoshima

• Ferry 15 min to Sakurajima

• Nagisa Lava Trail

• Sakurajima Volcanic Shore Park

Day 10: Kagoshima -> Kirishima

• Train 1 hour to Kirishima

• Stay in Kirishima ryokan onsen (maybe Ryokojin Sanso Hotel, but looking for other options. Our budget is $400/night)

• Kirishima Jingu

Day 11: Kirishima -> Tokyo

• Flight 1.75 – 2 hours from Kirishima to Tokyo (Haneda), spend last 2 days of the trip in Tokyo
