Hey everybody!
Planning our (married couple , mid-30s) second trip to Japan, and unfortunately the insanity of work has me woefully behind on my planning!
For our first trip we did Tokyo-Kyoto-Nara, and we don't want to double back on any of that.
We know we want to see Osaka, either Hiroshima or Nagasaki (don't have the emotional bandwidth for both), and a hot spring resort (Beppu?). We love to take trains, but would prefer to maybe just select 3 "hub" cities to take day trips from.
Food is a big thing we enjoy on our trips- we really enjoy the regional specialties. Other than that, nice museums, historical monuments and calm nature.
So, with 13 days:
1) how long should we spend in Osaka?
2) if you can only go to one, Hiroshima or Nagasaki? For how long?
3) would you recommend Beppu for a nice Ryokan experience?
4) what day trips would you take on this itinerary?
Thanks so much!
