Tokyo Itinerary Check (14 Days)

EDIT – I mean to say Japan Itinerary check, not just Tokyo lol.

Hi there! I would really love your thoughts on my iteniery. For context, this is my second time going to Japan (only stayed a week the first time last year) but the first time for my mom and cousin in Asia/Japan so I really want them to experience this beautiful country and don't mind doing things as if it was my first time.

We are prepared for long days but obviously want to be realistic about our days as well. I appreciate your guidance.

Monday, September 30 (Tokyo)

• LAX → TOKYO-HANEDA arrive at 2:00pm
• Haneda to hotel in Shinjuku (HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU)
• Shower/relax/eat something from konbini
• Dinner at Kan Agari in Shinjuku at 8:45pm
• Explore Shinjuku at night (can move this to next few nights if tired))
  • Omoide Yokocho 
  • Golden Gai 

Tuesday, October 1 (Tokyo)

• Tsukiji Fish Market
• Harajuku:
  • Meiji Shrine
  • Walk around Takeshita Street
  • Rooftop Garden (if time)
• Shabuya
  • Akita Dog
  • Don Quijote
  • Shibuya Parco
  • Shopping
  • Shabuya Sky at 9:00pm
• Dinner at either:
  • Udon Shin (will get QR code right when we get there and walk around meantime); OR
  • Tofu Sorano (will make reservation)
  • Togoshiya (snack before or after dinner)
• Dessert at Pap Coffee

Wednesday, October 2 (Tokyo)

• Asakusa
  • Sensoji Temple
  • Explore Nakamise-Dori street
• Walk to Jukken bridge for picture with Tokyo Skytree
• Akihabara
• Four Seasons Virtu Cocktail Bar
• Ginza
  • Shopping/Visit world’s biggest Uniqlo/Department stores
  • Ginza Six and the Rooftop Garden
• Dinner in Ginza
• Drinks at Mixology Salon

Thursday, October 3 (Day trip to Kamakura and Enoshima)

• Kamura:
  • Komachi-dori street
  • Tsurugoaka hachimangu
  • Zeniarai Benten Shrine 
  • Hokokuji temple
  • Hase
  • Hasadera temple (maybe if we have time)
  • Kotoku-in
  • Schirigahama beach
• Go to Enoshima Island and explore (will want to watch sunset here)
• Return to Tokyo
• Dinner at Teppan Baby Shinjuku at 8:45pm

Friday, October 4 (Tokyo/Kyoto)

• Check out
• Tokyo → Kyoto
• Lunch at Kyoto Katsugyu GYUKATSU Ekima
• Check-in at Hotel Kanra Kyoto
• Explore Higashiyama District
• Explore Gion – Geisha District 
• Dinner at Tai Sushi
• Drinks at L’Escamoteur
• Explore Kararamachi Street

Saturday, October 5 (Nara/Uji/Kyoto)

• Uji (about 3 hours here)
• Leave to Nara
• Nara:
• Go back to Kyoto

Sunday, October 6 (Kyoto)

• Arashiyama Day!
• Bamboo Forest 
• Lunch at Tenryuji Temple Shigetsu

• Kyoto Arashiyama Rankyo Boat ride (30 min)

Monday, October 7 (Kyoto/Osaka)

• Tea Ceremony (10:15 – 11:45am)

• Arrive to Citadines Namba Osaka Hotel

Tuesday, October 8 (Osaka)

• Osaka Castle

• Thrifting at Book Off

• Explore nightlife in Osaka

Wednesday, October 9 (Osaka/Hakone)

• Leave Osaka to Hakone in the AM
• Arrive to Hakone no later than 1pm
• Check in at Hotel Hakone Suishoen
• Open Air Museum (close to hotel)
• Relax the rest of afternoon/night in hotel

Thursday, October 10 (Hakone/Tokyo)

• Check out
• Hakone:
  • Ashi Lake/Mt.Fuji
  • Park/explore
  • Owakudani 
• Leave back to Tokyo 
  • *need to book Tokyo hotel either Shabuya or Ginza

Friday, October 11 (Tokyo)

• *Cousin leaves from Haneda at 6:25pm
• Relax/Explore parts of Tokyo we did not have time to explore on earlier days

  • Sumida river
• Dinner

Saturday, October 12 (Tokyo)

• Tokyo Disneyland Sea!

Sunday, October 13 (Tokyo)

• Leave back to LA from Haneda at 4:30pm
