I have been living in Japan for four years and have decided to leave the country.
I intend to become a tattoo apprentice in my next country of residence. I received the equipment from a friend of mine who worked as a tattoo artist here.
I have the machines disassembled, the needles in date marked, sealed wrappers, and everything in a hard case for travel.
I am unsure if there are restrictions here to leaving Japan with tattoo equipment. Do I have to declare my equipment at the airport? Are there any laws against traveling with tattoo equipment in/ out of Japan?
This is all going in a checked in bag.
