I’m currently under SOFA status living on base in Tokyo, but I plan to separate from the military and attend Temple Uni. I’ll be kicked out of the dorms once I separate but there will still be some time before I receive my student visa while it’s being processed. Does anyone here have experience acquiring housing while in between the transition from SOFA to Student visa? I’ve already been turned down a few times as most agencies won’t rent to SOFA unless it’s managed by the On-base contractors.
