I have an upcoming trip to Tokyo and I have a question about data and simcards. I have Mobile and they told me with my plan I wouldn't need an ESim and to just turn on data roaming. The agent also said we had "text unlimited for free DATA 5GB high speed-4g unlimited internet for free calling is $0.25 per minutes". I also have a physical mobile hotspot with 100GB on it and was told that it could work if a eSim is purchased.
If we plan on using iPads while in Tokyo has anyone had luck with turning on their phone hotspot to connect other devices while using TMobile's data roaming?Would it be advisable to still get a sim for the physical hotspot?
Also possibly a very stupid question but if I did purchase a sim for the physical hotspot could I do one with like 1GB? Since the hotspot has 100GB? Sorry I don't understand technology.
