This Morning I had a police officer and my landlord show up at my doorstep a few hours ago to tell me I was dumping my trash in the wrong spot. My Japanese is far from the best and my fiancée was at work, so I was just standing there in my pj while the officer was taking my information and trying to tell me in super fast Japanese what was happening. ( I got like 20% of what he said) Then they told me something about "walking outside" (in Japanese), to which I asked "now?" and if I could put some clothes on. I thought they wanted to show me where to put the trash, but no they just wanted me to get my trash bags and put them in the correct spot. Once I arrived an old Ojisan was already waiting there (presumably he reported me), when he saw that I was super apologetic and a foreigner he was nice about it and just said to be careful in the future and leave it for now. I guess I was lucky no one was mean about it, but I'm still shaken up. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? I don't understand why the police got involved at all 😮💨
