Hello all, just landed in Okinawa Sept 11, 2024 and looks like there are some warnings incoming for Typhoon No.13 for the 14 and 15th.
Looked at all the resources and I’m a bit confused so would love some input from locals as it’s my first time in Japan and near a typhoon.
Looks like it’s a 50% chance of being a class 4 STS typhoon of 50kt winds but what does that mean IRL?
I see no news on it apart from the official meteorological site watching its movements. Nothing on NHK World news, no one else is mentioning it online, is this something I should be worried about?
Do flights get cancelled and delayed at this strength of typhoon? Should I start preparing for supplies and making further arrangements? I have a flight to Osaka on the 15th and I’m nervous for a delay/reschedule as my airbnb in Okinawa is only scheduled until the 15th.
I’m trying to be as prepared as possible and would really appreciate any advice or input. Thank you so much!
