My partner and I (plus two kids, 9 and 12) are travelling to Japan mid October. We love Japanese food but I’m looking for different things to try that aren’t things we get here in Australia (ramen, sushi/sashimi, yakatori, gyoza, tempura etc). We’ll mostly be in Tokyo, but will have three days in Kyoto and a few day trips e.g. Nikko and Mt Takao.
So anything that’s kind of quirky/unusual/fun or regional dishes – would love your ideas! I draw the line at offal though 😛
