Should I take the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Hiroshima?

Me and my gf are going this October, and we need to get from Tokyo to Hiroshima. We have two options –

1. Go by flight (takes about 1 hour), or
2. Go by Shinkansen (takes about 4 hours)

Both options cost almost the same. It's quite easy to argue that we should take the flight – it's significantly faster. We will be taking a Shinkansen later from Hiroshima to Kyoto, so I'm gonna go through "the shinkansen experience" anyway.

Is there any reason I might wanna take the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Hiroshima? Like maybe the views from the train too good to miss, or there's some special food service in the train (I've heard there's bento boxes in Japanese trains)?

What would you do?
