I bought a dishwasher, only to find out that half of the dishes say “not safe/not applicable for dishwashers” (食器洗浄乾燥機はご利用いただけません) on the back.
We tried washing some cheap ones in the dishwasher, and they seemed to be fine. We’re wondering if that warning is just another tatemae, so manufacturers don’t have to deal with complaints from customers about broken dishes. Of course, we plan to hand wash the expensive ones anyway. What’s your experience?
