I recently purchased an apartment in a multi-unit building in the heart of Tokyo and am getting all the hookups ready. In the process of getting our internet set up, it's been determined that this building only provides VDSL and therefore I can't get anything higher than Asahinet's 100M speed for 4,488 yen/month (side note, is this expensive for something so slow?), and I'm worried it's going to be way too slow for my work (I'm an full-time artist and am constantly sending large files back and forth, backing up work to cloud networks, video and photo, etc).
I'm wondering if there is an alternative here, or am I just stuck with this solution?
Is there the possibility that I could install a fiber-optics network with permission from the building, like Nuro?
