I am travelling to Japan late October with my GF and I was planning on buying at least one Japanese instrument for my music since it is heavily influenced by it.
I’m looking for kokyu and shakuhachi primarily but any other wind instrument or stringed instrument works. (Percussions could as well, besides the huge taiko drums 😅)
I’ve been looking into it for a while but would love to hear from someone who had the experience of instrument buying there.
I did find a spot in Kyoto on some other Reddit post but would love to have more options around Tokyo, Osaka or Hiroshima.
