snow near osaka/tokyo?

I’ll be going to Osaka and Tokyo in the beginning of january!

I understand that Osaka and Tokyo doesn’t see any or much snow at all in the winter but would anyone happen to know if there are any day trips I can take outside of Osaka/Tokyo to experience some snow? Preferably a city or place that doesn’t require an overnight stay as I already have all my hotels booked.
