This is my first post on Reddit. My wife and I are going to Japan in October, staying in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. We have a date where we want to take a day trip out of Tokyo while we are there. We have discussed a few different options. For example, Nikko, Zushi Beach or Chichibu. We would ideally like to leave early in the morning and come back that same night to where we are staying in Shinjuku. My wife wants to see as many "colorful trees" as she can lol. Even a cool hot spring area would be nice (we both have tattoos however). Do you have any suggestions for a cool day trip out of Tokyo?
