I will be moving to Japan for 6 months and would like to get an local SIM card with unlimited mobile data.
I've been doing some research and have been recommended Rakuten Mobile by some locals as well, but as someone coming from country with truly unlimited mobile data, i'm having some doubts about what Japan means by unlimited.
On the Rakuten Mobile website it says:
"2 Speed may be restricted due to fair service provision during peak times and other conditions."
I seem to come across this statement no matter which service provider I pick, so does it mean there is truly no unlimited mobile data in Japan?
I would like to be able to do whatever I do with my mobile data, be that work, gaming, watching Netflix or YouTube, video calling my friends etc. without having to worry about my data usage.
I would appreciate If anyone with more knowledge about this topic would be able to help!
