This will be our second time going to Japan (went in early May 2023). We did Kyoto (with day trips to Osaka and Nara), Lake Kawaguchi (only got to stay one night and Fuji was shy) and Tokyo.
This time we will be there from 11/21 to 12/4.
What I already know:
- We will stay the night in Tokyo on 11/21 as we get in late and will just want to crash.
- We want to end in Tokyo and have 5 nights there.
- We want we want 3-4 nights in Kyoto (leaning 4).
This gives us 3-4 nights to play with and we cannot for the life of us decide where to go. We have things we want to see all of the country and it feels impossible to narrow it down.
Things I’m Looking For:
- I really want to stay in a Ryokan at some point
- I want to explore a less popular area.
- Looking for more nature and waterfalls
- Fall foliage
Places I’ve Been Looking:
- Nikko (think we will miss the fall leaves)
- Mie (looks hard to get to and not sure what would we do)
- Wakayama (not easy to get to but would love to see Nachi Falls).
- Do we go up north and see the monkeys?
- Kanazawa and Toyama also look cool.
Honestly, so many other areas too and we will definitely need to come back a few more times but any help with this trip would be great!
