finalizing plans and lodging for my trip nov 1-15, will be my wife and 2 kids (9&10), this is our 2nd trip and we have been to Kyoto and Osaka the first trip (and Tokyo)
the plan is to land in HND, spend a night in Tokyo and take a Shinkansen to Kanazawa for 2 nights. looking at train tickets it looks like the JR osaka-tokyo-hokuriku arch pass is actually worthwhile, so where along this pass should we see on the way back? The 2nd week will just be exploring Tokyo and various neighborhoods more as it was quite rushed the first time (crammed 3 days of Disney the first trip)
I'd like a little more "japan" vs tourist japan if that makes sense but not too far of the beaten path since I’m with family and it complicates things. We like outdoors and hikes, nature… I’d like to do a ryokan/onsen experience as we didn’t last time and don’t have one set yet for this trip.
