Skipped the beach scene this summer because I hate crowds. Would love to go in the autumn, assuming the weather is bearable (more worried about the air temperatures than the water temperatures).
Are there a lot of people swimming/surfing at Japanese beaches outside summer? Do nearby amenities such as boardwalks and restaurants remain open, or are they more seasonal?
