So I can’t be the only one to notice that Naito has lost a bit of his edge. I think in the beginning seeing him lose it put me at ease knowing NJPW viewed him as actually beatable but since he’s ran through almost everyone and won matches he shouldn’t have. I also really haven’t been a fan of how often he’s been rolling up people to win because he can’t hit his finisher.
The fact he can no longer hit his finisher feels weird to me and the fact that njpw has replaced his finisher with a roll up for wins is sloppy to say the least. I love Naito, I think he’s insanely charismatic but this has gotten to the point where we know he isn’t even close to a top level anymore. Also it’s been a little bit of a struggle watching some matches and seeing his competitors have to carry him through matches. Ospreay literally had to pick him off the ground in last years G1 semi finals just so Naito could hit him with his Destino, moxley did the same and I’m starting to see it with his other competitors as well.
