Hey, we are last minute planning a 3,5 week stay in October, 4 days of which we have to be in Chiba for business reasons. A must see for us are:
Tokyo
Kyoto
Osaka
Nara
Chiba (for business)
Mt.Fuji
Nice onsen in a traditional, village setting
However we would still like to add one or two less conventional places and are choosing between Kanazawa – traditional, preserved atmosphere and Nikko – the same, but with bonus of Lake Chuzenji and other nature spots.
Any advice on what is worth the trip? Or maybe some different places like Kazanawa (which is closer)?
