Hi! So im a college student hoping to do a semester abroad in Japan. I’m an art history major and I would love to go to Kyoto university to feel immersed in Japans more traditional side.
Academically, I’ve read that Kyoto University far out weighs KGU, but the issue are the courses for. Reading through, theres a lack of any art history related things at Kyoto (in english).
Meanwhile, KGU has a plethora. Its still right by Kyoto, not a total loss, but I would much rather go to Kyoto, maybe having to replace the classes with electives.
Its a long shot going abroad anyways, but id still love to hear thoughts on what would be the smartest thing to do? Waseda and Keio university are also options if there is something there that ive missed looking into.
