Going to Japan for the first time in March with my wife for two weeks, we've largely locked in our travel plan. I've been getting a lot of great information/insight from other posts.
We're planning on spending two nights in the Hiroshima area arriving after four nights in Kyoto. I am thinking of doing one night in Hiroshima and one night in a Ryokan on Miyajima.
I am seeking advice if it would be better to spend the first night in Hiroshima, or the first night on Miyajima, or other suggestions.
I am leaning towards the spending the first night on Miyajima after arriving in Hiroshima in the morning from Kyoto and spending the day in the city and then taking the ferry later in the day and spending the night and next day on Miyajima. Taking the ferry back in the late afternoon and spending the second night in Hiroshima, before leaving the next day for two nights in Osaka.
This is coming towards the end of the two weeks so thinking a relaxing night in a Ryokan would be a nice break after Tokyo and Kyoto.
Any suggestions advice from similar trips would be appreciated. Also open to any accommodation suggestions, we're willing to splurge on a night or two.
