touching people etiquette

im aware its not common touch strangers other than the shoulder tap for attention.

an older japanese grandma pulled my jacket so that i could go ahead of her in line. i look japanese and kind of young so i guess she felt it was OK?

do older people not follow touching etiquette? are they generally more grabby? this was in osaka and not a rural small town.

im a bit worried since its so uncommon… she seemed genuinely out of her mind… i didnt fully understand what she said… but she seemed to be complaining about the person ahead of her in line wearing their mask improperly bc it was hanging off showing the nose… so maybe she was just anxious… but now im anxious…
