I am looking for some advice on our general itinerary in November. My husband and I will be traveling with our almost 7 and 17 year old, so we have a broad range of interests to cover from karaoke, to Pokemon, to tea culture and breweries. We live in NYC and are accustomed to a lot of walking.
This is what I'm looking at so far, with a very specific question on if we should attempt Ghibli Park on our way to Kyoto, or, do the Imperial Palace tour (if we can get in) and gardens instead before Kyoto.
Day 1: arrive at Haneda at 3:30 pm and get to hotel in Ueno. Visit Ueno Park to try to stay up until 9 🙂
Day 2:: Sibuya, Shinjuku & Harajuku
Day 3: Asakusa
Day 4: DisneySea
Day 5 option one: depart early to Ghibli Park on the way to Kyoto – arrive late in Kyoto
Day 5 option two: Imperial Gardens and get to Kyoto late afternoon
Day 6: Higashiyama & Gion
Day 7: Arashiyama
Day 8: Nara, then on to Osaka
Day 9-14 Osaka and Hiroshima plans TBD
