Applying for PR via HSP points with sole proprietor side income

Hello Japan Financiers,

I posted a little while ago about changing jobs during a PR application and it seems like that is not a big issue. I have a follow up question and would greatly appreciate any advice, experiences, or expertise on the matter.

I am currently working for a large company as a contract employee and qualify for PR via HSP 80 points. I also have a sole proprietorship (or side income) that is equal to my current company salary (it is also in the scope of my work visa).

Since the PR application takes about a year I was wondering what happens if I quit my company job, or if my contract is not renewed during the PR application? (In this instance I would continue my sole proprietorship.)
I still have 2.5 years left on my work visa.

Is this a big no no? Or is it possible to pull this off after starting the PR application via points with my current company?
