Hello! I’m currently planning a trip for February. I’m planning to stick to 2 cities to minimize hotel transfer time and energy, Kyoto then Tokyo.
I’ve been to Japan once before, in high school, and I remember sleeping on tatami to be so incredibly comfortable.
Now I deal with joint pain and insomnia issues from multiple fronts, so I’m fairly nervous about finding comfortable beds in general, let alone an extreme change like this.
Part of me really wants to take a couple of nights to try out a hotel with tatami rooms, and part of me doesn’t want to risk a couple of nights of sleep (plus recovery sleep nights).
Does anyone have experience with this? Or recommendations for places with good beds!
