Japan Post parcel shipping to Canada

JP has suspended shipping to Canada since May 2021, and still has not resumed despite US, Australia, NZ shipping being resumed.

Anyone know or have insight into when they’ll resume sending shipments to Canada again?

  1. I wish I knew! I managed to send out two measly boxes in late April 2021. I rolled up with a few more on May 21, 2021 and they told me they were no longer shipping to Canada for the foreseeable future as of two days earlier. Impeccable luck. My solution was to ship what I could to a warehouse in the US about 100km away from their destination in Canada and wait for the borders to open up between the two for non-essential travel. They have since been picked up, but I’m still waiting on one box that is too big for the US’ maximum package dimensions (but within the Canadian maximum dimensions). If I had to guess, Canada is lower priority and JP won’t accept packages until things reopen and stabilize more.

  2. Sadly its the same status as the numerous other posts about this on here.

Canada is apparently not a priority for JP post right now. Its anyone’s guess when they will resume shipments.

If you have urgent packages you need shipped, then the only choice you really have are the companies like DHL, FedEx, Yamato, etc.

  3. Its absolutely crazy how japan is still locked down from tourists and postal services. How long will they be holed up? Covid isn’t something that will go away at all so if they aren’t accepting it they will never return to normal..
