Berlitz is a run-of-the-mill chain Eikawa. As far as Eikawas go, could be worse. Eikawa is not a glamorous or high-earning job in general but in context of that industry, they’re adequate.
I should note Berlitz has had some financial setbacks/restructuring in recent years so that’s worth keeping in mind
Hamamatsu is a franchise, so it doesnt have too much affiliation with the main Berlitz chain. Otherwise, from what I’ve heard, its one of the better run Berlitz franchises.
Hamamatsu is okay but managers switch around a lot at Berlitz so who knows how long that will last. If you work at Berlitz, do so only long enough to secure an exit plan aka a better, non-eikaiwa job. Then get out ASAP. HR at Berlitz is a nightmare and will be of little help to you if/when a manager oversteps boundaries. Do not trust Michael Mullen.
