Two week first time itinerary check – are we moving round too much?

Hi all, myself and my husband (27yo) will be heading to Japan in early March (4th-18th) for two weeks for our honeymoon. We’re really excited to see as much of Japan as possible as we feel this may be a once in a lifetime kind of trip, but I also don’t want us to be so tired we can’t actually enjoy the trip. We will be using luggage forwarding so when we’re in Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go, and Himeji we’ll just have backpacks.

We’re both massive on the history and culture, we love Japanese food and we’re pretty active so walking a lot isn’t an issue. We’re not big anime/manga fans but like the mainstream Pokémon/Nintendo stuff.

I’m looking for some guidance on the following:

  • Have I planned too much on days?
  • Are we missing anything amazing? Locations or activities? Interesting museums?
  • Are we moving round way too much? If so, what would you recommend we cut/move to change this?
-Have I got too many temples here? We like the scenery and we love history but we’re not spiritual really. What would you replace with?
