Kyoto recommendation: Kitchen Minori

Wanted to share my recommendation for a lovely cooking class in Kyoto.

Kitchen Minori is a home-style japanese cooking class in English taking place in a traditional japanese home.

You arrive at 10:30 and for the next 3 hours, the teacher – Hiromi, teaches you how to create several dishes.

In the end you all sit together and have a lovely lunch together.

The dishes were diverse and rich, including soup, salads, chicken, fish and even wagyu meat.
Hiromi used a wide range of vegetables and spices, some of which were more unique to the japanese cuisine and I never tried before.

The teacher, Hiromi, is fluent in English and a sweetheart. It was an experience of it's own just to spend a few hours with her learning and talking.

The price is 10,000 yen per person (15,000 if you come for 2-people private class), which is a bit high for an experience in japan but it is absolutely comparable to any other recommended cooking I've found and any other cooking class I've had in other places in the world.

My wife and I decided to take it as a special treat for ourselves as a highlight toward the end of our trip to Japan and it's been absolutely worth it.

Very recommended for any traveler interested in japanese cooking or just wanting to do in Kyoto something a bit "out of the box". Very suitable for couples.
