Hi fellow Japan travelers!
I've scheduled my next trip to Japan on vacation. This time around, I want to maximum on how long I can be in Japan using my PTO from my job and work flexibility. The 1st time I was in Japan, I was there for 29 days and this one that I have upcoming for is going to be 34 days ( extra 5 days compared to the first time, YAY!). However, I realized I was being too careful with my job flexibility even though I know it will work and can do it, and it's just been a looming thought of mine since getting the ticket and the idea has me thinking "you should have done it like this" (basically going with gut instinct).
Instead of 34 days, I can bump it up to 37-38 days, so an extra 3-4 days. The problem here is that I already bought my ticket, and if I wanted get those 3-4 extra days, I would have to buy a another ticket for one (would be $800-950 pending the price I get it quoted on the day if I were to get the ticket)- my 1st ticket is round trip so that works when it's time to head home.
What are your thoughts on this? I could be saving costs for another trip in the future for another round trip whereas I'm probably being a little greedy, regretful, buyer's remorse (maybe thats going too far) with getting some extra time in Japan compared to my first time, let alone 2nd trip (learning and growing pains!)
Thank you everyone!
