Shinkansen delay alternatives

For the second year in a row, I have booked Saturday night lodging in Kanazawa and have a Sunday evening (18:30) departure from Narita (Tokyo). I appreciate the sage advice of being in the City from where you are departing the night before, however my plan is to take the 06:02 Shinkansen from Kanazawa to Tokyo arriving at 08:29- 10 hours prior to my scheduled flight.

That said, I understand that things happen and disruptions to Shinkansen can occur.

My question is- assuming it is a fairly minor disruption, would any kind of alternative transportation be provided? For example if the Shinkansen would be delayed for several hours, would buses be provided to get passengers to their destination?

In the event there are no accommodations provided, any suggestions on how to self-adapt? I presume that going to Tokyo would work in my favor in that it would be a destination that many other people were also trying to reach. On the other hand, given so many people would in fact be doing the same, would there simply not be enough alternative transportation capacity until the Shinkansen is restored?

I'm highly confident I will arrive to Tokyo at precisely 08:29 without issue, but wondering what alternatives might be available if needed.
