Hi all! I am not a student of Japanese but because my daughter looooves Japanese Rhyme Time at our local library it looks like I have no choice!
Can you help me with transliterating some of the lyrics to the more popular songs? I have partially memorised some of them but not completely.
Here are the following I’m looking for:
Gu Choki Pa De https://youtu.be/fVH_MBA4sww
Wind the Bobbin Up https://youtu.be/0I-UjD0OuYE
The last one I think is called “Haju Mari Yo”, or “Let’s Begin”. It involves hand gestures for a crab, cat whiskers, and an octopus.
Thank you!![https://youtu.be/0I-UjD0OuYE](https://youtu.be/0I-UjD0OuYE)

Here’s the first one. (sorry if the formatting is off)
Gūchokipā de gūchokipā de

migite wa choki de hidarite mo choki de kani-san
gūchokipā de gūchokipā de

migite wa gū de hidarite wa choki de katatsumuri
gūchokipā de gūchokipā de
nani tsukurou na ni tsukurō
migite wa pā de hidarite mo pā de chōcho
gūchokipā de gūchokipā de

gūchokipā de gūchokipā de
nani tsukurou na ni tsukurō
migite wa gū de hidarite mo gū de gorira
The lyrics (in katakana and hiragana) are in the description of the youtube videos. The English translation is there as well. If you copy and paste the Japanese lyrics into translate.google.com, it’ll transliterate it for you.
Note on the reading and pronunciation. The vowels with the line on the top of them just mean that you’re holding that vowel sound just a little bit longer. The tsu sound can be made by trying to say “ratsoo” then just dropping the “ra”.
You linked the Bobbin one twice, instead of Hajimaru Yo. Was this the one you meant? https://youtu.be/sUotEQR5J2s
