So I've booked a night at Highland Resort Hotel & Spa on Sunday 13th October with the plan of going to Fuji-Q Highland the next day on Monday 14th. I planned it this way on the basis of expecting less crowds and shorter lines on weekdays.
Today I just learned that Monday 14th October is "Sports Day", which is a public holiday in Japan, so I understand everyone will be off work.
I understand wait times for big rides at Fuji-Q Highland can be bad at the best of times, and was hoping to not spend multiple hours in queues for each ride. Can anyone offer any insight into how screwed I am?

A lot of people do not have public holidays off. The crowd level on my trains those days is never noticeably different.
You can see historical crowd data here: https://fujiq.info/calendar.php
Fuji-Q is pretty much always crowded. I wouldn’t worry, it’ll be just as bad as normal haha.
EDIT: There’s a ton of tips here too: https://old.reddit.com/r/JapanTravel/comments/8zfepb/fujiq_crowds_in_late_september/
Usually Monday holidays aren’t so bad, people don’t want to make a long drive home after. Saturday/Sunday are usually worse
I went to USJ in sports day last year and again this year just a few days ago. Let me tell you, you are majorly fucked. USJ felt like a day care with parents when I went on sports day!
We’ll be in DisneySea on the same day. Good luck to us!
