I’m a complete beginner and was looking to get a dictionary (monolingual and bilingual) along with some books that, by Japanese standards, are easy to read.
to be honest, I don’t think it’s worth buying a physical dictionary tho others may disagree. I personally use Jisho and it helps way more than any Japanese dictionary I’ve bought. For books, I have no personal recommendations I can only really speak for dictionaries
Jisho is a website btw and it’s extremely useful
Kanshudo is also a good one. It shows you the usefulness of the word you look up and the jlpt level if you care about that
