AI making learning Japanese to consume Japanese media redundant?

I initially wanted to learn Japanese to consume Japanese media which wasn't translated into English.

But now there's AI, and it's been getting arguably good and will only get better. I've seen a program which can automatically translate raw Japanese PNG's into translated English PNG's, and a program which does live translations for games.

I kind of feel like I've wasted my time. Does anyone else feel this concern?
