As crazy as Dotonbori is and beautiful as Osaka castle is, this may have been our favorite spot we visited in Osaka. We found a small shop consisting entirely of handmade cat-scene magnets (with the friendliest shop owner who gave us free tea – so cute), saw pairs of elderly men playing Go in cafes, and stepped inside the mall underneath Tsūtenkaku to catch the end of a small girl-band concert (in nurse, firewoman, and policewoman costumes) with dedicated fanboys (fanmen?) cheering them on and presenting them with flowers haha. It was a full Japan experience, highly recommend to anyone visiting Osaka!
